John Jr. has his finger in his mouth while sitting on his mothers&#8217; lap as President Kennedy drives an open car leaving Bailey&#8217;s Beach in Newport, for a cruise aboard the Honey Fitz in Narragansett Bay. Caroline is beside her father.


I think this is a very sweet picture of Jack and Jackie.

The man of the house says goodbye as the woman of the house goes out in the morning. This man, however, is Senator John F. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, and he&#8217;s not sending his wife out to earn their bread and butter. Mrs. Kennedy, the former Jacqueline Bouvier, is on her way to classes at Georgetown University Foreign Service School.
